WorkMobile Powers Antarctica Projekt
Die Bau- und Tiefbau-Spezialisten der BAM Nuttall werden im Rahmen einer 100 Millionen Pfund teuren Modernisierung der Forschungsstation Rothera eine neue Werft in der Antarktis entwickeln. Die BAM Nuttall wählte die preisgekrönte Lösung von WorkMobile zur Unterstützung eines neuen Projekts in der Antarktis.
Case Study
Das 50-köpfige Team wird zwei antarktische Sommer damit verbringen, im Auftrag der British Antarctic Survey Expedition die alte 60-m-Kaianlage abzubauen und die neue 74-m-Kaianlage für ein neues Schiff zu bauen.
Aufgrund der Abgelegenheit der Arbeit werden grundlegende Dienste, wie z.B. Internetverbindung und Mobilfunksignale, nicht verfügbar sein, was die Erfassung und Übertragung von Daten extrem schwierig macht. Mit Hilfe eines lokalisierten WorkMobile-Servers, der in der Antarktis eingesetzt wird, können die Mitarbeiter jedoch die Informationen für die Dauer des Projekts in der Wolke sammeln und speichern.
Die Außendiensttechniker werden in der Lage sein, Daten in Echtzeit zu erfassen, z.B. das Ausfüllen von digitalisierten Formularen, das Aufnehmen von Fotos und Videos und die Erfassung von Unterschriften, während sie sich vor Ort befinden.
BAM Nuttall wählte die WorkMobile-Anwendung aufgrund ihrer Flexibilität, die es den Benutzern ermöglicht, mobile Formulare zu erstellen, die für die jeweilige Arbeit relevant sind, einschließlich Baustelleninspektionen, Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsformulare, Baustellenbefragungen und Baustellentagebücher für alle Arbeiter vor Ort.

Auch für mein Team eine Premiere - wir mussten eine Computerumgebung für unser Antarktisprojekt am Südpol konfigurieren und entwerfen.
"Da es an diesem Standort keine Internetverbindung gibt und das Personal vor Ort sechs bis zehn Monate lang vor Ort war, musste das Team etwas Einzigartiges produzieren. Mein Team arbeitete an verschiedenen Entwürfen, schuf aber schließlich ein robustes, sicheres, mobiles Rechenzentrum, das in dieser potenziell feindlichen Umgebung funktioniert.
"Nachdem die Entwürfe genehmigt waren, brauchten wir einen bevorzugten Lieferanten, der bereit war, flexibel vorzugehen, einschließlich der Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kunden und seiner Datenerfassungslösung.
